Diy Coffee Wood Pallet Sign

Welcome to our Church Sign

I have been working on a DIY Pallet Project over the last 24 hours & it is turning out better than I expected.

Our Church is updating its decor to be more country-like. I looked into a few projects & came across a wood Pallet sign that I loved.

& I thought, “God, where can I get some pallets for this project?!?” A few days later on my way to work, there were a pile of pallets out by the curb.  Hallelujah.

I picked through the pile & loaded the pallets in the back of my truck. Now, I had some dirty work for my fiancΓ©.

I tried to take the nails out but I wasn’t strong enough. He helped me out πŸ™‚

Yay!!! Pallet Boards!!

& so I began to hammer out the nails. πŸ”¨

& I sanded the boards. (I’m sweating aggressively- Sorry) Okay, this isn’t working… Dad!!!!!!

Thanks Dad πŸ™.

Oh yea, this is much easier & less sweaty. I buffed out the knots & little splinters.

I lined up the boards & glued them together. Careful, this stuff is powerful. I let it dry overnight πŸŒ™

Viola! It’s so pretty. But it’s much to plain. We need some color. & seeing how I love coffee so much…

Mix 1/2 cup of boiling water with 2 tbsp instant coffee.  Let sit for about 10 minutes. Then apply to dry clean boards.

This is free-hand but it turned out really well.

    My Garden is Growing 🌱

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Everyone! Speaking of Green, today I noticed a few of my seedlings have popped through. && I am sooo EXCITED!

I love to Garden. 🌱 I planted my first vegetable garden last year & I must say it was pretty successful. πŸŽƒ 🌽 πŸ₯’

About 10 days ago, I started my seedlings indoors. Mind you, I live in Central Ny & Miss Stella ❄️ (the biggest snow storm since 1993) had passed through this week. So, it has been pretty chilly. I have been watering daily & today, I discovered 5 little sweet corn seedlings have popped through. Yay!! 🌽

I have been saving egg cartons for a few weeks now. They are great containers to start seeds in because they are easy to transplant outside and they absorb the water. I save some egg shells as well- to spread around the garden to keep slugs away. 🐌

This year, I am using Jiffy Natural & Organic Seed Starting Mix. I found it to be a good bargain for my buck & it has a great texture.

As of today , I have planted:

    • Pumpkins πŸŽƒ
    • Corn 🌽
    • Cucumbers πŸ₯’
    • Carrots πŸ₯•
    • Squash
    • Watermelon πŸ‰

    I am going to add:

    • Tomatoes πŸ…
    • Peppers 🌢
    • Radishes

Hopefully our Apple tree blooms again this year.

And an added bonus is the grub the garden draws in. When I am tilling the garden patch, I will be sure to pluck some worms for fishing. 🎣

    Stuffed Bass Grill Recipe

I came across this recipe via BonAppetit.com & fell in love ❤️. So, I am sharing it with you. I hope to make this during one of our camping adventures this summer.

    Lime-And-Cilantro-Stuffed Black Bass

The stuffing can be varied easily. Try lemon with tarragon, or orange with rosemary.

Prepare grill for medium-high heat; oil grate. Season bass inside and out with salt and pepper. Stuff bass with half of cilantro and half of lime slices; tie closed with kitchen twine, spacing 2" apart (this will hold the stuffing in and make it easier to turn fish on the grill).

Grill bass undisturbed until skin is charred and crisp and flesh of bottom fillet is flaky and opaque, 6–10 minutes, depending on size of fish.

Place a metal spatula underneath bass and brace with tongs on top for support, then lift and gently roll it over onto the other side. Cook until flesh of other fillet is flaky and opaque, 6–10 minutes. If a small knife or a tester slides easily into the thickest part of flesh, fish is done.

Line a platter with remaining cilantro and lime slices. Place bass on top and remove twine. (Or transfer to a cutting board if you want to fillet first.)
    Ingredients

    2 SERVINGS

1 tablespoon vegetable oil, plus more for grill

1 1½–2-pound whole black bass or branzino, cleaned

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

    1 bunch cilantro, divided

1 lime, thinly sliced, seeds removed, divided

    Storm Stella ❄️

    ❄️ Blizzard of March 15th, 2017 ❄️

Here in Central Ny, we have accumulated quite a bit of snow. About 30″ within 16 hours 😳

I’m waiting for a phone call from work to see if I am needed. However, it may take me a few hours to un-bury my vehicle.

So, today’s adventures consist of blogging, couponing, a little housework, & shoveling of course!

    Damn you, Winter Storm Stella.

Pray for me that they call me off from work (fingers crossed) 🀞

    Stay safe everyone! ❄️

10 Simple & Easy Fishing Hacks

I love Life Hacks. The simplest, everyday materials can be transformed into amazing new pieces & help out in a way you never thought they would.

    1. Sinker Holder- Gather your loose sinkers & put in an old tic tac holder.

    2. Snell Hook Noodle Organizer- Cut a pool noodle & wrap snell hooks around for easy organization.

    3. Pool Noodle Fish Well- Attach pool noodles around edges of laundry basket.

    4. Peanut Butter Pan- Use Peanut Butter to mask smell of fish while cooking.

    5. Coffee Spool Leader DIY- Drill holes in side of coffee can. Insert spools  of fishing line for neat organization.

    6. Soda Bottle Minnow Trap- Catch bait fish with DIY soda bottle minnow trap.

    7. Fix Eye of Fishing Pole- This happens to me at least once a year (Due to careless mistakes) Bend a Safety pin and attach to your pole. Simple and Easy.

    8. Bottle Cap Fish Scaler- collect a few bottle caps and attach to a piece of wood.

    9. Toothpaste Hand Cream- Fishy Smell Be Gone!

    10. Homemade Keychain- Use a lure that floats & attach your keys. If your keys are dropped in the water, the will not sink. (May use cork as well)
